This is another image of Nathon P, the chosen artist I have decided to write about. I like this image as it shows a person who smoking and rebelling in a public place. Someone who is not afraid to break the boundaries such as iconic figures like the Sex Pistols and Pete Doherty. I don't think this is the greatest photograph, however, it matches similar looking photographs like those of 'Jamie T'.

This photograph I don't want to use as it isn't a clear professional shot of a group. This was during my experimentation of taking photographs for my magazine. Whilst I was shooting I didn't have a clear idea of how I wanted people to be placed in relation to the camera as I am a bit shy at telling people what to and where to go. I think it's a good picture but not formal enough for my magazine and to have a professional image I want my magazine to have. I think it would be enticing for the audience as they have an individual and unique style with the matching tartan, but i don't feel it is a serious enough image. I felt that when I took the photograph, to have all of the band members in tartan gave a formality of the band and to show through their individual music style the may play. However with the background not being very good, I did not want to use this one. The poses give out some attitude and maybe show some interest to the reader of what sort of music they play and may relate to other individual people with an alternative taste in fashion and music. I like the way the band members are placed in relation to the foreground. It shows the leader of the band and the two playing instruments in the background look great there as they may not be the main attraction of the band. I think it is interesting to have a female in with a two male band and would attract to my audience of diversity in music.
This is a picture of the spaniel's ears playing and I really like the lighting and how it captures the guitarists and the singers. I wanted them to pose with all of them playing their instruments as they are a real band and prefer to take pictures with them playing rather than posing formally as they are not that confident. I think this shows in this image however, the background of the intimate gig reflects upon my audience as these are the sorts of gigs I would imagine they would go to. It fits the criteria of the audience I want to attract. The lighting is clear however it is in a pub and you can see a slot machine game. It doesn't look right and fit with the image.
These two images are of the witch- hunt and I placed them around the room as if it was a professional shoot. This was good experience for me for when I want to work in the media and work with real bands and well known artists. I felt more confident in this shoot rather than my first try as I learnt I have to be firm. However, these photographs don't look too serious but I think this is to demonstrate the band's quirky music taste and style. They are a rock band that are all different to each other so I thought something random would reflect this. I like the lighting in this photograph however it has a slight orange glow as i didn't use the flash. But when I used the flash it then became too bright so it was hard to find a balance. I feel my audience would like to see a band like this as they look comfortable and relaxed in who they are and I think people would enjoy their music!

This image I took at a gig I went to of the spaniel's ears. I want to show this on the double page spread as both bands link together as they are friends. I think the audience I am aiming for who also might want to form a band will see how to build connections with people and maybe inspire them. I love the background being a skyline image of New York, it shows that they are keen to go places and become successful. I feel it would attract my audience if they wanted to start a band and show that you have to start at the bottom to work your way up. To show that anything is possible reflecting on the first image I took to the later image. It shows they are more confident and I feel if I used both images it would contrast to show how a band starts and ends up!

I think it will connect with my target audience for partying and gigging. I think his pose shows he is comfortable and eager to do well and be successful but at the same time with an attitude of "not bothered". I like the fact it is a close up shoot of his face, I feel if it was a full body shoot it wouldn't have the same effect. This image is one that i might also use for the double page spread, as I have seen in many NME spreads, the photogrpah covers the whole 2 page with writing over the top. That could work similarly well with this article.

I may use this image as a photograph for the use of a subheading or an added picture on the double page spread.

I want to use one of the two photographs for my front cover and then the double page spread will be about them. I take about 10 photographs but I don't know how many I want to use. I think about 6 photos will be good enough, for main sells on the front cover and my contents page. I also want to include some pictures on the double page spread to advertise what is also in the magazine or in the next issue.
I have decided not to use a picture of a band as my front cover, instead I chose to use a photograph of one of me and my friend's to use a front cover at a gig we went to. This will be for the article about the Noise! Awards and what people thought about it. The band headlining the event will be the article of the double page spread - Nathon P. The other photographs I want to use for the main sells and advertisement on the contents page and double page spread. They will be like navigators for the audience when they see it to see if they actually want to buy it and it interests them. I chose this picture as it is relevant to the youth culture of raves, parties and gigs. I edited this photo in photo shop to make it look like a professional photograph. I feel it sets a good example as to what audience I want my magazine to be aimed at.
